Kaiut Yoga in Toronto is taught by Edgar Hernandez. He discovered Hatha Yoga in the 1970s while in high school in Colombia and has had a committed yoga practice ever since. In Colombia he trained with Swami Satyananda, practiced for a couple of years at the Satyananda Ashram location in Bogota and then continued practicing with the Great Universal Brotherhood. In the late 1980s he started teaching yoga in Colombia, and continued teaching when he moved to Canada in 2001. He discovered Kaiut Yoga in 2016 in Boulder, Colorado and immediately began practicing the Kaiut method. For Edgar this method is a return to the original intention of yoga.
Alina has been practicing yoga for over two decades has a regular meditation practice. She completed 300 hours of Kaiut Yoga Teacher Training and will be teaching at various locations starting in Toronto. Inspired by Francisco’s presence and extensive knowledge as well as by the method’s accessibility and intelligence, she is committed to teaching and spreading the word about this natural, holistic, and ever-evolving practice to as many people as possible.
With a background in nursing, social work and psychotherapy, Alina has a passion for creating reflective space, inviting people to befriend their inner life through experiential workshops, and to connect with their body in an emotionally present way through Kaiut Yoga. She enjoys clay sculpture and painting. Some of her poetry was published.
