I turned 40 five years ago. And I was actually quite happy about it as my 30’s weren’t exactly a stellar decade. I was looking at turning 40 as a reset button. It felt good. But what didn’t feel good was my back and shoulders. I felt like I was a 40 year old in a 70 year old body. Now I’m not the fittest person in the world but I’m not a disaster either. Why did I have aches and pains at only 40 years old?
I turned 45 a month ago. And I am even happier about that. The back and shoulder pain is all but gone. As long as I do my Kaiut yoga practice they don’t bother me. Even a half hour or so of Kaiut can counter the impact on my body of sitting in an office at a computer all day long.
In creating Kaiut Yoga, Francisco has very intentionally and meticulously designed each pose and sequence in response to the movement patterns of modern life. Kaiut is a counterforce to how we move and don’t move day to day. It reverses the harmful patterns we create in our bodies from using them in the same way over and over and over again.
So maybe when I turn 80 I’ll be the happiest yet.
